“A truly powerful life isn’t won. It’s cultivated.” Dr Anita Phillips.
Have you reached important professional or personal goals and milestones, only to find out that after the initial elation, you felt exactly the same as before? That reaching those goals did not give you the satisfaction you had anticipated?
If you are lucky enough to ride horses, you will already know a very important life lesson. The joy lies in the journey because we never know what awaits us at the finish line, or when the finish line will be (if it will be at all). Horses are masters at injuring themselves at the worst time, so all the good work a rider has put in can collapse like a house of cards. If joy is not found in the everyday learning, the everyday effort, the everyday collaboration with the horse, the coach, the friends at the barn; disappointment lurks.
Find joy in your journey, even when it is imperfect. Be grateful for what you have instead of wanting more all the time. Research how you can better yourself, in your trade and also in how you act with your coworkers. Find joy in being a community builder, in learning how to say “no” but also “thank you” or “sorry”, in mentoring someone who needs help, in finding a mentor who can help you. Nothing is granted in life, even when we do everything right, but the relationships we build, the improvement of our selves, will be there for us, if nothing else works out our way!
Horses can help you cultivate the powerful life you are craving. Email me to ask how!
