Have you made any resolutions this year? Such as hit the gym and loose 20 pounds, get a new job, a romantic partner, cook more at home, or spend less time on your devices?
Research shows nobody gets their content of sleep these days. In fact, most of us are 1 or 2 hours short of sleep every night. And when we are tired what do we do? We eat more, we fixate on our phones, we yell at our kids, well I know I do but I am not the only one!
So, my New Year resolution, and life pursuit these days is the following: put my devices away for the night at 8 PM, spend the last hour of my day in quiet activities, do not work (aka laundry, taxes, decluttering) and sleep more. It is easy enough to practice when I am home alone, but it takes a lot of discipline when my husband and kids are home with me, because there is a lot of activity and so many things to do. I know I am a better person and much more productive when I have had enough quality sleep (and I do not vanish into daydreaming as much either).
How about you? Are you sleeping enough?
Let's make 2024 the year of sleep!
